FOMRI has been developed in close collaboration with the world's leading MRI research institutes. The acoustic problem in MRI is widely regarded as the most challenging in the world of noise: patterns vary between scan modes, scanner types, scanner rooms and bore specifications. These variations are often dramatic and are expressed in numerous audio characteristics such as frequency resonance range, duty cycle and envelope. After nearly a decade of constant development and improvement, FOMRI hardware and noise cancelling algorithms are robust enough to handle all noise variations.
FOMRI eliminates most EPI acoustic noise and provides real-time adaptive noise cancelling that results in excellent clarity. FOMRI-III operation is automatic, though a user may choose to adjust certain critical parameters.
All FOMRI adaptive noise-cancelling capabilities are implemented using a built-in hardware DSP.
